Kelly Sandoval

Executive Director

Kelly became the Executive Director of Rainbow Riders in early 2019 and we can’t imagine what we would do without her! She is truly the fearless leader of our staff. She is our biggest cheerleader and the best advice giver. Her role includes program development, community outreach, fundraising, marketing, and strategic planning. Like all of the staff at Rainbow, wearing many hats is part of the gig and she is no stranger to mucking a stall or two should the need arise!

Kelly has 17 years’ experience working in the non-profit sector; 12 of those in a leadership role. Previously, she was Provincial Manager for seven years with conservation organization, Ducks Unlimited Canada followed by three years as Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of St. John’s.

Although she came to Rainbow knowing more about ducks and human children than horses, she has thoroughly enjoyed learning about the fascinating world of horses as well as working with the dedicated team that care for them and facilitate our programs. After several years at the helm, she now knows “enough to be dangerous”.

Her skill for interjecting horse-related puns into the conversation whenever the opportunity presents is legendary.

Fun Facts: Kelly is a grandmother to three beautiful grand-babies!
